About the Opportunity

Cetechs is seeking an experienced General Practice Physician to provide comprehensive medical services at the Federal Bureau of Prisons' Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) in Oakdale, Louisiana. This is a full-time onsite position supporting the medical care of the federal inmate population within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

The physician will provide primary care, chronic disease management, urgent care, emergency response, physical examinations, and clinical oversight of nursing and mid-level providers while maintaining compliance with Bureau of Prisons policies and nationally accepted standards of medical practice.


Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Monday-Friday
  • 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • 30-minute unpaid lunch
  • Approximately 40 hours per week
  • No regularly scheduled Federal Holidays
  • Must be available for emergency situations when required
  • Onsite only

Essential Duties

  • Perform comprehensive medical evaluations
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
  • Conduct history and physical examinations
  • Respond immediately to urgent and emergency medical situations
  • Manage inmate primary care clinics
  • Review laboratory and diagnostic testing
  • Review and sign consultation reports
  • Provide clinical guidance to Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses and EMTs
  • Maintain complete and accurate electronic medical documentation
  • Complete Bureau of Prisons required documentation
  • Participate in chronic care management
  • Coordinate care with Clinical Director and Health Services Administrator
  • Follow all Bureau of Prisons medical policies and procedures
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Attend required institution orientation and security training

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Current unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state
  • Board certification or board eligibility preferred
  • Current CPR certification (American Heart Association)
  • Experience practicing medicine in a clinical setting
  • Ability to pass:
    • Federal background investigation
    • Drug screening
    • Credentialing and privileging process
  • Current malpractice coverage
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
