Position Overview
The Information Management Specialist provides critical information management, data analysis, reporting, and operational support to the CDC Division of Global HIV & TB (DGHT), Office of the Director (OD). This role supports the implementation and oversight of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and related global health initiatives across more than 45 countries.
The position requires handling time-sensitive data requests, maintaining complex tracking systems, preparing high-level reports for U.S. Government stakeholders, and supporting senior leadership with accurate, compliant, and actionable information.
Key Responsibilities
Information Management & Data Support
  • Perform urgent ad hoc data entry and tracking for requests from CDC, Department of State (DOS), HHS, OMB, and other U.S. Government partners
  • Maintain and update complex databases, registers, and tracking systems used for global HIV/TB program oversight
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with CDC and HHS standards
Analysis, Research & Reporting
  • Summarize and analyze programmatic and operational information for leadership decision-making
  • Research, compile, and prepare high-visibility reports for:
    • CDC leadership
    • HHS
    • Department of State
    • Office of Management and Budget (OMB)
    • U.S. Congress and other stakeholders
  • Produce rapid-turnaround analytical products, briefings, and special materials as requested
Leadership & Operational Support
  • Support DGHT Office of the Director in implementing Administration priorities
  • Provide project management support for information-driven initiatives
  • Track actions, follow-ups, resolutions, and outstanding issues for leadership
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Public Health, Business, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting federal programs, preferably within CDC, HHS, or DOS environments
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, and information tracking systems
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Strong data organization, tracking, and quality assurance skills
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of information and produce concise summaries
