Systems / Network Engineer
Summary
The Systems Engineer supports CCQDER hardware, networks, servers, and IT infrastructure used to support cognitive interviewing research and data storage systems. This role ensures systems performance, reliability, and compliance with CDC IT policies.
Responsibilities
Maintain CCQDER hardware and software inventory
Install and configure systems and operating environments
Provide desktop and network support to CCQDER staff
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
Maintain servers, routers, audio/video systems, and storage
Manage video storage infrastructure
Perform system backups and recovery operations
Coordinate with CDC OCIO and cybersecurity offices
Implement security controls and system updates
Maintain documentation of hardware and system changes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
5+ years systems administration or network engineering experience
Experience managing secure systems and networks
Experience supporting video or digital media systems
Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and system monitoring tools
Preferred
Experience supporting federal IT environments
Knowledge of CDC or HHS IT architecture
Security certifications (Security+, CISSP, etc.)
