Cetechs is a Service-Disabled Veteran owned company is hiring for a Certified Medical Assistant to provide support to the Department of Labor at the Frances Perkins Building Occupational Health Clinic, Washington, DC. The clinic's primary function is to provide occupational health services such as job related physical, fit for duty evaluation, immunizations in accordance with DOD/DLA Regulation/Instructions, OPM Classification and Qualification Standards and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, as well as minor work-related medical care for workplace injuries and illnesses.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide assistance to clinicians, to include taking and recording patient history, vital signs, scheduling appointments, and other clinical activities.
  • Provide assistance to tele-health providers, assisting with the patient side of tele-health examinations.
  • Provide patient education on health-related topics.
  • Performs blood draw from patients for analysis or other medical purposes. Performs POC testing with proper competencies. Processes lab tests by completing required paperwork, preparing, and packing the specimen for shipping. Collects and process urinalysis. Perform audits, studies, and reports as needed.
  • Clinical technical supportive care to include applying and removing bandages and dressings, removing sutures, performing ear lavage, performing pill administration to the inmate population of pre-packaged prescription drugs excluding controlled substances.
  • Performs EKG’s
  • Assists clinicians and visiting consultants in the management and coordination of patient flow for visits/ appointments.
  • Assists medical records staff. Performs medical record filing, coping of medical records. Perform audits, studies, and reports as needed. Method and Performance All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods.
  • Basic health screenings include blood pressure checks, temperature checks, body mass index (BMI) calculations, blood sugar checks, cholesterol tests, flu tests, strep throat tests, COVID-19 tests, etc.
  • Maintain a stock of commonly needed medications including but not limited to antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, muscle relaxers, cough and cold medications, allergy and asthma treatments, and gastrointestinal medications.
     
Qualifications:
  • Medical Assistant must be a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Have valid CMA certification.
  • Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Have at least one year experience working as a medical assistant. Experience working in an occupational health clinic setting is preferred.
