Location: Sheridan, Wyoming
Work Location: On-site, Sheridan VA Medical Center, 1898 Fort Road, Sheridan, WY 82801
Schedule: Full-time; facility operates 24/7. Shifts are primarily 12 hours, with some 8-hour shifts. Must be available for days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Cetechs is seeking experienced Specialty Inpatient Registered Nurses to provide direct patient care in support of Veterans at the Sheridan VA Medical Center.

The RN will provide direct and indirect nursing care, conduct patient assessments, establish nursing priorities, implement appropriate nursing interventions and evaluate patient outcomes. The position requires independent clinical judgment, strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inpatient and critical-care nursing services.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop appropriate nursing plans of care.
  • Administer medications and IV therapies.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms.
  • Operate defibrillators, EKG machines, cardiac monitors and other emergency equipment.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.
  • Carry out physician orders and accurately document care.
  • Review laboratory results and electronic medical records.
  • Perform skin assessments and implement pressure-injury prevention measures.
  • Assist with surgical and diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide care for patients with catheters and prostheses.
  • Participate in admission, discharge and transfer activities.
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments and procedures.
  • Participate in quality-improvement and required staff meetings.
  • Maintain complete and timely documentation in the VA electronic health record.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved professional nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time the program was completed.
  • Current unrestricted RN license in at least one U.S. state, territory, commonwealth or District of Columbia.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification when assigned to a specialty clinic.
  • Minimum 1 year of direct patient-care experience within the previous 3 years.
  • Ability to successfully complete VA credentialing and privileging requirements.
  • Ability to meet VA health, immunization, background and mandatory training requirements.
  • VA experience preferred.
