Cetechs is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) looking for Medical Physicist to join our team of medical specialist in multiple locations across the United States.
We have an immediate need at the VA in Baltimore, Maryland
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Masters Degree, or PhD in medical physics from an accredited College or University.
- Must be a US Citizen;
- Must be board certified for American Board of Radiology (ABR) Therapeutic Medical Physics
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversight of radiation safety compliance activities for radiation oncology radioactive material and radiation equipment use, including investigation of reportable medical events and regulatory non-compliance and review of radiation oncology equipment shielding designs.
- Use radiation detection instrumentation, contamination survey instruments, and other associated equipment in everyday work and in emergency response conditions.
- See the needs and objectives of others and take them into account while achieving their objectives, and adapt to their approach and expectations accordingly.
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies and professional organizations to achieve program consistency and adequacy in a national perspective.
- Respond to internal and external radiation emergencies including radioactive material spills, including radioactive contamination monitoring, decontamination, patient and staff dosimetry, emergency event analysis, and required documentation.
- Provide radiation and MRI safety training to physicians, residents, and staff at AHN facilities in compliance with regulations and to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Develop and oversee imaging QC program for diagnostic imaging equipment, with primary focus on advanced imaging modalities, including image quality metrics, repeat analysis, imaging protocol reviews and dose metric monitoring (10%).
- Perform radiation shielding designs for all AHN new and replacement imaging modalities/facilities and testing of imaging facilities' shielding to document and demonstrate regulatory compliance and staff/patient/visitor safety.
- Perform annual and post-repair regulatory and image quality physics testing on AHN imaging equipment, primarily advanced imaging modalities.
- Analysis, development and implementation of testing/QC policies and procedures for new imaging modalities, to ensure regulatory compliance and optimal imaging quality.
